The Northern Virginia FM Association is an organization dedicated to providing superior FM repeater service to Amateurs in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area.

Since it's formation in 1971, the Association has operated superior wide coverage FM repeaters that are open for the use of all amateurs.  Members enjoy the added benefit of special repeater features.  See the membership page for more information on joining the NVFMA.

The NVFMA is an ARRL affiliated club, and supports the ARES/RACES and SKYWARN organizations in the Metro DC area.

Next Meeting

 

 

The Next NVFMA General Membership Meeting will be held at 1930 (7:30 PM for civilians) on Thursday, June 21, 2018.  The meeting will be held in Room 2105 at the Fairfax County Public Safety Headquarters Building, located at 12099 Government Center Parkway, Fairfax, VA  22035-5501.  Please park in the Herrity Building parking garage next door and walk to the front entrance of the Public Safety Building.  We will have somewhere at the door for admittance and direction to the meeting space and talk in will be on the 146.79 repeater. It is anticipated that one Board seat will  be up for election.  

We will have two presentations, and an update on the repeater relocation.  The first presentation will be by Technician Jason Trautman from the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue department who will discuss how the Virginia Radio Cache will be integrating amateur radio into their operations.   The second presentation will be by Mark Braunstein, WA4KFZ, to discuss ARDEN.
